We're recruiting a VAT Manager for a leading accountancy and tax advisory practice in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced VAT professional to manage a varied client portfolio, deliver high-quality VAT advisory work and build strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver VAT advisory and consultancy services to a varied client portfolio
• Manage VAT advisory projects from scoping through to completion
• Advise on land and property, international VAT, partial exemption and financial services
• Support clients with HMRC enquiries, disputes and investigations
• Assist with VAT litigation and tribunal matters
• Prepare technical reports, advice and client correspondence
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Identify opportunities for additional VAT work
• Support business development, proposals and networking
• Work with wider tax and professional services teams
• Support and develop junior VAT team members

About You

• CTA qualified preferred, although relevant experience will be considered
• Proven VAT advisory experience within an accountancy or professional services practice
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and case law
• Experience dealing with HMRC
• VAT disputes or litigation experience advantageous
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• Commercially aware and proactive
• Experience contributing to business development
• Organised and able to manage competing deadlines
• Keen to develop technically and professionally
