We’re recruiting a US Tax Senior on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy and business advisory firm with a specialist US Tax offering. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced US Tax professional to join a growing Private Client Tax team, working with a portfolio of US-connected individuals, business owners, trusts, estates, and corporate clients.
This role is ideal for a US Tax Senior or experienced Tax professional looking to develop their expertise within an international tax environment, gaining exposure to complex advisory work while working alongside experienced Managers and Directors.
The Role
As a US Tax Senior, you will manage a portfolio of US-connected clients, delivering high-quality compliance services while supporting advisory and tax planning projects.
Working closely with Managers and Directors, you will provide specialist US tax expertise as part of an integrated Private Client Tax offering, helping clients navigate complex cross-border tax requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of US tax clients, supporting compliance and relationship management
- Preparing and reviewing US tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates
- Supporting US tax advisory and planning projects
- Advising clients on US tax compliance requirements and obligations
- Preparing complex US tax filings, including Forms 1040, 1040NR, 3520, 5471, and 8858
- Supporting corporate and partnership tax compliance, including Forms 1120, 1120-F, and 1065
- Building strong client relationships and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
- Working closely with Managers and Directors to deliver market-leading advice to US-connected clients
- Identifying and resolving technical tax issues through research and analysis
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members
- Continuing to develop technical knowledge through training and professional qualifications
About You
You will have experience within a US Tax environment, with strong knowledge of US tax compliance and advisory requirements.
You will be confident managing client relationships and delivering accurate, high-quality work across a portfolio of US-connected individuals and businesses.
You’ll demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of US tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience preparing US tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates
- Experience with US personal tax compliance, including Forms 1040, 1040NR, 3520, 5471, and 8858 (preferred)
- Experience with US corporation and partnership tax compliance, including Forms 1120, 1120-F, and 1065 (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively
- A proactive approach to client service and technical development
A US Enrolled Agent (EA) qualification would be advantageous, although not essential. UK tax knowledge would also be beneficial but is not required.
