We are working with a highly regarded professional services and accountancy firm to recruit a Trust Senior Manager for its London office.
This is a client-facing role offering the opportunity to manage trust compliance, oversee IHT returns and trust accounts, and lead a team of junior staff. You will provide technical trust advice, support Private Client Partners, and play a key role in modernising trust processes and ensuring high-quality client service.
You will work closely with Partners and colleagues while mentoring junior team members within a collaborative and forward-thinking private client and trust team.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor all trusts to ensure IHT compliance, including ten-yearly charges, exit charges, and chargeable lifetime transfers. Prepare IHT returns for trusts and lifetime transfers.
Prepare annual trust accounts for UK and offshore trusts, including charitable trusts.
Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance and quality assurance.
Train, supervise, and mentor junior staff, including conducting annual appraisals.
Manage departmental workload throughout the compliance season.
Provide technical trust support and advice to colleagues and Partners.
Work with Private Client Partners to modernise and improve trust processes.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
CTA qualified, with STEP qualification and trust accounting experience advantageous.
Strong technical knowledge and experience in trust compliance and accounting.
Excellent attention to detail and proactive attitude. Ability to work successfully as part of a team and under pressure. Strong communication and organisational skills.
