We are recruiting an Accounts Manager for a top accountancy and business advisory firm based in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting or outsourcing professional to join a growing team, managing a diverse portfolio of clients while playing a key role in delivering management information, business partnering, and advisory support.
This role is ideal for an experienced Accounts Manager, Client Manager, Outsourcing Manager, or senior Management Accountant looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio within a progressive and technology-driven firm offering excellent long-term career prospects.
The Role
As an Accounts Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their primary day-to-day contact and developing a deep understanding of their businesses, objectives, and financial requirements.
You will provide outsourced finance and management accounting services, overseeing the production of management information, financial reporting, and ensuring all accounting records remain accurate and up to date. Working closely with your clients, you will deliver meaningful financial insight, analyse key performance indicators, and provide reporting on risks, opportunities, budgets, and forecast variances.
The role will involve reviewing VAT returns and statutory accounts, supporting treasury activities, preparing audit files, and assisting clients with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and the implementation and optimisation of accounting systems.
You will adopt a digital-first approach, utilising cloud accounting technology and the firm's technology stack to drive efficiencies and improve processes for both clients and the wider team.
Working collaboratively with tax, payroll, and advisory teams, you will identify opportunities to add value to your clients while supporting cross-department initiatives and maintaining exceptional levels of client service.
You will also assist with new client onboarding, tender processes, portfolio management, and the development of junior team members through mentoring, coaching, and line management responsibilities.

About You
You will have at least four to five years' experience gained within a UK accountancy practice outsourcing team or a senior management accounting/business partnering role within industry.
You will ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, although part-qualified and qualified by experience candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
You will have experience managing client relationships, producing management accounts, reviewing financial information, and delivering commercially focused financial insight.
A strong understanding of UK GAAP is essential, with IFRS knowledge being advantageous. Experience using Xero, Excel, Sage, QuickBooks, Dext, Silverfin, or CCH would also be beneficial.
You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and delivering a consistently high standard of work.
A proactive mindset, strong commercial awareness, and a passion for technology and process improvement will be key to your success in this role.
