Job Summary
We are recruiting a Financial Services Audit Assistant Manager in Newcastle to support audit engagements, manage junior staff, and work closely with clients. This role is ideal for a CA/ACA-qualified professional with experience in financial services audits and team leadership.
You will take ownership of audit planning and execution, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality client service while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day audit engagements for financial services clients
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, including Audit Seniors and Assistants
- Prepare and review audit documentation and planning files
- Liaise with client staff and build strong, professional relationships
- Ensure audit deadlines and budgets are met, flagging issues promptly
- Provide technical guidance on complex audit areas
- Maintain high standards of audit quality, compliance, and confidentiality
About You
- CA, ACA, or equivalent qualified
- Strong experience in financial services audit
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proactive, client-focused, and commercially aware
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and complex audit projects
