Working alongside Tax, Payroll, HR, Legal, Immigration, and Global Mobility specialists, you'll provide commercially focused employment tax advice while playing a key leadership role in the continued growth of the department.

The Role

As an Employment Tax Senior Manager, you will work closely with Partners to deliver a broad range of employment tax advisory and compliance services to UK and international clients.

You will manage a varied portfolio, providing practical solutions across all aspects of employment taxation while helping organisations navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on employment tax matters, including employment status, PAYE, National Insurance, and temporary workplace relief
  • Undertaking PAYE health checks and supporting clients through HMRC enquiries and reviews

  • Providing employment tax advice on overseas employees and global mobility matters
  • Reviewing expatriate self-assessment tax returns and payroll calculations
  • Advising on employee share schemes, including annual reporting and HMRC submissions
  • Supporting the firm's payroll team with technical employment tax guidance
  • Working closely with colleagues across Payroll, HR, Legal, Immigration, and Global Mobility to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong long-term relationships
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services and supporting business development initiatives

Alongside your client responsibilities, you will lead and develop a team of tax professionals, reviewing work, providing technical guidance, mentoring junior colleagues, and maintaining high technical standards across the department.

About You

You will be CTA qualified with significant experience in Employment Tax gained within a UK accountancy practice or professional services environment.

You will possess excellent technical knowledge and be confident advising clients on complex employment tax matters while managing client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.

You'll demonstrate:

  • CTA qualification
  • Extensive Employment Tax experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, Benefits in Kind, and Employment Tax compliance

  • Experience managing HMRC enquiries and employer compliance reviews
  • Good understanding of payroll processes and employment tax reporting
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
  • Proven leadership and people management experience
