Corporate Tax Assistant Manager – Stockport

We are recruiting a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager on behalf of a leading independent accountancy and business advisory firm in Stockport.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified CTA professional or an experienced Corporate Tax Senior looking to step into an Assistant Manager role. You'll join a growing tax team with a strong advisory focus, working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses across a broad range of corporate tax matters.
The Role
Working closely with Tax Managers and Partners, you will support the delivery of a wide range of corporate tax advisory projects while continuing to build your technical expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with corporate tax advisory projects for SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- Supporting tax planning and advisory assignments across a range of tax matters
- Identifying tax planning opportunities within client portfolios
- Reviewing corporate tax compliance work and using this to support advisory projects
- Carrying out technical research and preparing written tax advice
- Attending client meetings and building strong client relationships
- Working closely with colleagues across tax and business services teams
- Supporting Partners and Managers on complex advisory assignments
About You
You'll have:
- CTA qualified (or recently qualified)
- Strong UK Corporate Tax experience gained within an accountancy practice
- Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- A solid background in corporate tax compliance
- An interest in developing your corporate tax advisory skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A proactive and commercially focused approach
Previous tax advisory experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
