We are working with a highly regarded professional services and accountancy firm to recruit an Audit Senior Manager for its London office.
This is a client-facing leadership role offering the opportunity to take full responsibility for a senior portfolio of clients, act as a trusted adviser, and ensure delivery of high-quality audits from planning to completion.
You will combine technical excellence with a commercial mindset, provide strategic guidance to clients, and play a key role in developing and mentoring audit teams.
You will work closely with Partners and senior stakeholders while leading a collaborative, forward-thinking audit team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, execution, and completion of complex audit and accounts work, ensuring high-quality, timely, and budget-compliant delivery. Review statutory accounts under UK GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS, providing senior technical guidance.
Oversee, coach, and develop audit managers and senior staff, supporting their professional growth, managing workflow, and leading performance discussions.
Take ownership of billing, WIP, and budget management across your portfolio.
Support team wellbeing through strategic resourcing and day-to-day leadership. Provide value-adding advice and insights to clients, identifying ways to improve processes or support strategic objectives.
Play an active role in business development by spotting opportunities within your portfolio, leading client proposals, and nurturing client relationships.
Contribute to firm-wide initiatives that drive operational efficiency, innovation, and consistency.
Build and grow your client portfolio and develop your business case towards future RI status.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
Proven experience leading audits across a diverse client base.
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS.
Extensive experience managing audits end-to-end with confident judgement and technical expertise.
Awareness of corporate, personal, and indirect tax.
Demonstrable leadership and senior supervisory experience.
Ability to manage a large portfolio and prioritise effectively.
Excellent relationship-building and client management skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft packages and audit-related technology.
