Audit Senior – London
London
Hybrid Working
Competitive Salary
We are recruiting an Audit Senior for a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced auditor to take ownership of audit assignments, build strong client relationships, and continue progressing within a supportive and professional environment.
This role is ideal for an Audit Semi Senior ready to step up, or an existing Audit Senior looking for broader exposure and increased responsibility within a client-facing role.
The Role
As an Audit Senior, you will play a key role in delivering audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with managers and partners. You will lead audit fieldwork, prepare and review audit working papers, and assist with the preparation of financial statements, ensuring assignments are completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
You will act as the primary on-site or remote contact for clients during audit engagements, maintaining proactive and professional communication while building and developing strong working relationships.
The role will involve planning audits, preparing information request schedules and assignment terms, liaising with the corporation tax department, and ensuring audits are delivered efficiently and within budget.
You will also be responsible for identifying and escalating issues to managers and partners where necessary, tackling more complex audit areas, and ensuring files are prepared to review stage efficiently and accurately.
Alongside client responsibilities, you will supervise, mentor, and support junior team members, reviewing work, answering queries, and assisting in their ongoing development through constructive feedback and assessment reporting.
The position offers exposure to a wide range of sectors and clients, providing excellent opportunities to strengthen both your technical knowledge and client-facing skills.
About You
You will have previous audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment, with strong knowledge of audit processes and financial reporting standards. You will be confident leading audits, managing client relationships, and working effectively within deadlines.
Strong communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively are essential. A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to support and develop junior staff are also key to success in this role.
ACA or ACCA qualification, or progression towards qualification, would be advantageous.
