We're recruiting an Accounts Senior to join a specialist Agriculture team in Exeter on behalf of a highly respected accountancy and business advisory firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Senior to work with a varied portfolio of farming families, landed estates, rural businesses and owner-managed businesses, while developing your accounting, tax and advisory experience.

The Role

You'll be responsible for preparing accounts and tax work for a diverse range of rural and agricultural clients, with excellent exposure to both compliance and advisory work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, companies and trusts
• Prepare corporation tax and personal tax computations
• Assist with trust accounts and tax returns
• Prepare and review VAT returns
• Assist with IHT returns and CGT 60-day property returns
• Prepare management accounts, forecasts and projections
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
• Liaise with clients and HMRC
• Identify tax and commercial planning opportunities
• Assist with client meetings and farm visits
• Build strong and lasting client relationships
• Support junior members of the team

About You

You'll have experience working within an accountancy practice and a strong grounding in accounts preparation and tax compliance.

Ideally, you'll have:

• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or studying towards qualification
• Previous experience in an Accounts Senior or similar role
• Strong accounts preparation and tax compliance experience
• Experience working with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Good knowledge of accounting and tax software
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• A proactive and commercially minded approach
