We're recruiting an Accounts Senior – Agriculture in Bristol on behalf of a highly respected accountancy and business advisory firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a specialist agricultural team, working with farming businesses, rural enterprises and entrepreneurial agri-businesses. The role offers a varied mix of accounts, tax compliance and advisory work, with excellent opportunities for career progression.

The Role

You'll manage a varied portfolio of agricultural and rural clients, providing high-quality accounting and tax services while developing trusted client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and oversee annual farm and rural business accounts
  • Prepare accounts and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships and companies
  • Review personal and corporation tax computations
  • Prepare and review VAT returns
  • Oversee bookkeeping and management accounting services
  • Prepare forecasts and financial projections
  • Analyse income and expenditure to support client decision-making
  • Identify accounting, tax and commercial planning opportunities
  • Liaise with clients and HMRC
  • Assist with business start-ups and restructuring
  • Gain exposure to IHT and CGT planning
  • Attend client meetings and farm visits
  • Build strong relationships with agricultural and rural clients

About You

You'll have previous experience within an accountancy practice and a strong background in accounts preparation and tax compliance.

You'll ideally have:

  • AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or nearing qualification
  • Experience in an Accounts Senior or similar role
  • Strong accounts preparation and tax compliance knowledge
  • Experience working with different business structures
  • Good knowledge of accounting and tax software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • A proactive, commercial and client-focused approach
