We're recruiting an Accounts Semi Senior for a growing accountancy practice in Tamworth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant or Semi Senior Accountant with UK practice experience who is studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA and looking to develop their career.
You'll gain valuable exposure to accounts preparation, tax, VAT and bookkeeping, working with a varied portfolio of clients and developing your technical and client-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory and management accounts
- Assist with corporation tax and personal tax compliance
- Prepare VAT returns
- Complete bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Liaise with clients to obtain records and resolve queries
- Assist with cash flow forecasts and business planning
- Support senior accountants with client advisory work
- Ensure work is accurate and completed within deadlines
- Use IRIS or similar accounting software
- Support junior team members where appropriate
About You
- AAT, ACCA or ACA studying (or qualified by experience)
- Previous UK accountancy practice experience
- Experience preparing accounts and working with tax and VAT
- Good understanding of HMRC requirements
- Experience with IRIS or similar software advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Able to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Proactive, motivated and keen to progress
- Positive and collaborative approach
