We are recruiting an Accounts Manager for a well-established and growing top  accountancy and business advisory firm with ambitious expansion plans across Central and Southern England. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded Accounts team, managing a varied portfolio of clients while developing your leadership skills within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.

This role is ideal for an experienced Accounts Manager or a Senior Accountant ready to step into management, looking for greater responsibility, technical variety, and long-term career progression.

The Role

As an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting and business advisory services while acting as a trusted point of contact for your clients.

You will oversee the preparation and review of statutory accounts under FRS 102, FRS 102 1A and FRS 105, ensuring assignments are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed deadlines. You will also review corporation tax computations and returns, working closely with Partners to resolve technical queries and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Working directly with clients, you will plan assignments, obtain relevant information, and build long-lasting professional relationships. You will manage workflow across the Accounts team, ensuring resources are allocated effectively, identifying potential capacity issues, and helping to maintain the highest standards of service delivery.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of businesses, including owner-managed companies, partnerships, landed estates, and clients within the farming and agricultural sector, providing an excellent opportunity to develop specialist industry knowledge.

Alongside client responsibilities, you will supervise and mentor junior team members, helping to develop their technical skills while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to broaden both your technical and commercial expertise while playing a key role in the continued growth of a progressive and ambitious firm.

About You

You will be ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least three years' post-qualified experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.

You will have experience managing client portfolios, reviewing statutory accounts, and preparing or reviewing corporation tax computations. Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and financial reporting standards is essential.

Experience working with agricultural businesses, landed estates, or rural clients would be highly advantageous, although not essential.

You will possess excellent communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
