We are recruiting an Accounts Manager for a growing and highly regarded professional services firm based in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded accountant to join a collaborative Business Advisory team, working closely with Client Relationship Managers across a diverse and interesting client portfolio.

The Role
As an Accounts Manager, you will work closely with Client Relationship Managers to oversee the timely and profitable completion of work across an allocated client portfolio.
The role will involve planning and managing the preparation and review of year-end accounts, management accounts, corporate and personal tax returns, VAT returns, budgets, and forecasts for a wide variety of clients.
You will collaborate with specialists across the wider business where required, coordinating advisory input and identifying opportunities to provide additional value-added services to clients.
Alongside managing client work, you will review the work of Assistants and Seniors, providing coaching, technical support, and constructive feedback to support their ongoing professional development.
You will build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day queries, meetings, and ongoing support while ensuring a consistently high standard of client service delivery.
The position will also involve portfolio management responsibilities including client onboarding, fee preparation, and proactive WIP and debt management.

About You
You will have previous experience gained within a UK accountancy practice or professional services environment, ideally within a similar accounts or business advisory-focused role.
ICAS or ACCA qualification, or equivalent, is essential.
You will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to positively influence clients and colleagues while delivering a high standard of service.
You will be proactive, commercially aware, and forward-thinking, with strong IT skills and the ability to embrace new technologies and systems.
Experience using accounts and tax software packages, alongside a good working knowledge of client accounting systems, is essential.
You will also demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively.
