We're recruiting an Accounts Manager for a leading accountancy practice in Truro.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Manager or Assistant Manager to manage a varied portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses, providing accounts, tax and business advisory services while developing strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
• Prepare and review statutory and management accounts
• Review corporation tax computations and returns
• Review VAT returns and other compliance work
• Provide accounting, tax and commercial advice
• Act as a trusted advisor and key client contact
• Manage budgets, WIP, billing and assignment profitability
• Identify opportunities for additional services
• Support Partners and Directors with client meetings and business development
• Supervise, coach and develop junior team members
• Resolve technical accounting and tax issues
• Ensure work is delivered accurately, efficiently and on time

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
• Strong accountancy practice experience
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients
• Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax
• Experience reviewing work and managing junior staff
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills
• Commercially aware with a strong business focus
• Highly organised with excellent time management
• Confident leading client meetings
• Proactive, professional and keen to progress
